This is the story of a young man coming home from the lazy, regimented, army life to once again find himself working in a grimy welding shop and becoming involved in union activity. His working life began at the age of 13, living through the Great Depression of the 1920s and 1930s.
The union is an economic organization that brings together people of all political affiliations, religions, races, and ideologies into one common organization to fight for the betterment of the working man.
Those familiar with trade unions and those not should get something from reading this fascinating and enlightening book.
